Promote Activities and Events

Employment specialists, under the direction of their Church leaders, promote services and activities through appropriate forums and channels. Promotional activities provide members with information that can help them improve their lives.

1. Posters: Use posters at meetings to promote community-sponsored career fairs, educational group meetings, and self-employment assistance programs offered by industry and community resources.
2. Written Bulletins: Use written announcements and flyers to advertise services such as career fairs, education open houses, and self-employment expos. See a sample bulletin.
3. Announcements to Be Read in Meetings: Arrange for verbal announcements in meetings to promote employment-related events and activities.
4. Consultation Reminders: Employment specialists can remind candidates of activities and services when they call to follow-up on candidate progress. Stake employment leaders can also remind employment specialists of activities as they regularly discuss candidate progress.
5. Hand-Delivered Invitations: Prepare invitations to career fairs, education open houses, self-employment expos, career-related youth activities, career self-reliance training courses offered through the community or stake, and other services or activities. Home and visiting teachers can deliver the invitations. Full-time proselyting missionaries can deliver them to less-active members, new converts, or friends of other faiths.
6. E-mail Networks: Forward announcements, resumes, and other information via e-mail to your network of contacts.
