The Slippers That Softened a Heart
A grandmother cares for nine children after their mother dies. She is old and sick, and doesn't know how she can clothe and feed the children. LDS Charities helps by providing food and shoes for the family, including a new pair of slippers for the grandmother.

The Milk Depot
In 1932 the stake presidency of the Pioneer Utah Stake assigned the Relief Society presidency to contact dairies about donating milk for those in need. A home was chosen as a milk depot where people could come to get milk. Among those who came to the dairy was a young boy, who was not a member of the Church. Eventually his entire family joined the Church.

A Stranger in Nauvoo
After a hard journey of 800 miles on foot, Jane and her companions reach Nauvoo and the Prophet Joseph Smith. Her companions find a place to stay, but Jane doesn't, so the Prophet and Emma open their home to her.

A family in need arrives in Salt Lake City the morning before Christmas. When asked what they would like for Christmas, the six-year-old boy requests a bowl of oatmeal.

Sister Marelle Gardner sees pictures of children wearing little more than rags and wonders if there is something she can do. She commits to make a dress a day for a year. In six months she has made over 200 dresses for the humanitarian center.

Hands That Serve
At age 72, Joyce Robinson became afflicted with arthritis, but for the last four years she has spent each evening crocheting afghans to donate to those in need. She has made 202 afghans, which have been given to shelters, unwed mothers, and the humanitarian center.

A Donation from the Jesus Church
Members assisted tsunami victims in Indonesia, purchasing and distributing goods to areas which were 99 percent Muslim. As the Suranto cry "We have a donation from the Jesus Church" rang out, grateful recipients lined up to receive food, clothing, and survival items.

John and Nancy Hopkins accept a call to serve as welfare missionaries in Mongolia. There they see a woman carrying an eight-year-old boy who had been crippled since birth. A medical shipment arrives and inside is a child-sized wheelchair which is given to the boy.
