1. Become familiar with the brochure Unsure How to Help Members with Employment Needs? and share it with those in leadership positions.

2. Ask individual members questions about their specific needs, such as:

• How do you feel about your job?
• How do you feel about the stability of your chosen profession or work?
• Are you happy with your career path and with the skills you have?
• If employment is a concern, are you aware of the resources available to you?

3. Teach members about self-reliance and work.

4. Coach members in the skills that will help them develop self-reliance.

• Discuss individual needs and solutions in leadership meetings.
• Involve ward members who can help.
• Call and involve capable employment specialists.
• Utilize LDS Employment Resource Services.

• Consult with Church leaders.
• Offer The Career Workshop.
• Provide one-on-one assistance.
• Refer individuals to job opportunities.
