Six days later the storehouse was again issuing food orders, and in eight days a cancelled production run of peanut butter was able to be rescheduled. - Sister missionaries walked to a small village high in the Andes where they met an 86-year-old blind man-dirty and smelly-who recently lost his wife. They taught him principles of spiritual and temporal salvation. He was baptized and became a faithful member of the Church.

- Humanitarian service missionaries helped people on the island of Samar in the Philippines raise rabbits and grow vegetables. The people became healthier and had a source of income from sales of the vegetables, meats, and hides.

- Blaine and Kathy Yorgason adopted a baby, Charity, born with only a brain stem; the rest of her brain was missing. Doctors predicted she would not be able to experience any of her senses, but Charity responded. She loved to be held and smiled radiantly.
