Eliana is the sole financial support for her family in Chile. She started a micro-business making baby clothes, but later came to the employment center for help because all the baby clothes she made needed embroidery applications. As Eliana did not have an embroidery machine, her personal profits were lessened because she paid other people to sew the embroidery applications.
The employment center reviewed her business and introduced her to FINAM, a micro-business organization. She had an interview with them, and they later visited her home to make an evaluation of her business. A week later they lent her $500.000 (US $ 860) to buy her embroidery machine. She was happy about this and shared her experience with others.
