One man in Lima, Peru, is a collegiate public accountant who was forced to resign from his job and had been job hunting for eight months. Meanwhile, he was driving his vehicle as a taxi service, but it did not provide enough income for his family. His wife had started a small business making different kinds of pies to sell at schools to supplement the family's income.
The man enrolled in the Employment Self-Reliance course. During the classes, he realized that there were things he could do to improve his employability. He developed a networking plan beginning with the people closest to him and made changes in his personal appearance.
Having prepared himself as much as possible, he went to a job interview. He came away from the interview with the accountant position that he had been looking for. He is now working in his profession and continues to search for a better job because he knows that the best time to find a good job is when one is employed.
