When Luis returned from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he wanted more than anything to attend the prestigious SENATI, the finest technical school in Peru. He applied for one of the highly-sought-after openings and, to his delight, was accepted. Unfortunately, he did not have the finances to pay for his schooling.
When he arrived at the LDS employment office in Lima, he felt frustrated and discouraged. As volunteers at the employment office spoke with Luis about possible solutions, one of the options considered was corporate sponsorship from one of the major companies that hired from SENATI. They talked about how to apply, how to write a letter of introduction, and finally how to do well in an interview. The last thing they did was kneel in prayer, asking for help from Heavenly Father.
When Luis next returned, it was with tears in his eyes. In his first interview, the Honda Motor Company had been so impressed with him that not only did they offer to sponsor him during his entire training program, but they also offered him a job once his studies were completed.
